20MPH: A quarter of all fines occurring on just two roads

Responding to the news that 25% of motorists committing 20mph speed offences have been caught on just two roads in Wales, Peter Fox MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary For Infrastructure, Transport and Rural Affairs, said: 

“Whilst we have consistently supported a 20mph speed limit outside sensitive areas, Labour’s rollout of the scheme has led to nothing but confusion and frustration.

“Passing the responsibility of reviewing roads onto already overstretched councils, who are taking far too long to carry out this review, has only added to motorists’ confusion. 

“It’s time for Labour to ensure speed limits are targeted appropriately, focusing on areas where they make sense, to restore public confidence and ease the burden on drivers."
