The BBC reported that almost 10,000 were offered a Covid booster in Wales despite not meeting the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation’s (JCVI) criteria.
This is not the first blunder to has occurred in Wales with 13,000 shielding letters being sent to the wrong address and a data breach involving 18,000 coronavirus patients.
Commenting on the news, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Health, Russell George MS said:
“These mistakes are simply not acceptable. Let’s not forget there was a data breach involving 18,000 coronavirus patients and 13,000 shielding letters in Wales were sent to the wrong addresses.
“These mistakes are totally unacceptable to people on the receiving end of these errors. The number of mistakes occurring under Labour continues to be an embarrassment and undermines faith in our healthcare service.
“This is just further evidence that Wales needs a COVID inquiry so we can learn from the mistakes of the pandemic.
