Commenting on the news that from the start of April, businesses across Wales have now been struck with a cut to business rates relief from 75% to 40%, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Andrew RT Davies MS, said:
“Under Labour and Plaid, Wales has the highest business rates in Great Britain, and now they’re slashing business rates relief from 75% to 40%.
“With many of our business, pubs and restaurants across Wales already facing real hardship, this cut in business rates relief will put many livelihoods and local jobs on the line, with business rates now effectively doubled.
“The Welsh Conservatives would maintain business rates relief so businesses can be properly supported through these tough times.”
