Commenting on the news that the UK Conservative Government has signed and agreed The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Welsh Conservative Leader, Andrew RT Davies MS said:
“This deal will be a huge boost for Wales’ economy and demonstrates the success of Brexit Britain in signing our own comprehensive and beneficial trade deals, on our terms.
“This deal breaks down trade barriers with 11 countries, representing 13% of the world’s income and improves access to a market of 500 million people. The UK, outside of the EU, is cutting tariffs, reducing costs for businesses and lowering prices for consumers.
“This really is the biggest trade deal since Brexit, it is fantastic news and should be welcomed by all.
“The Labour Government need to take full advantage of this deal, as opposed to their typical relentless negativity, to turbo charge manufacturing in Wales, create jobs and make sure we reap the benefits of this deal.”
