Commenting on a Welsh Conservative Written Question to the First Minister revealing the participants of the DrakeSpad WhatsApp group, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives said:
“The infamous DrakeSpad chat epitomises the breaking of rules by Labour Welsh Government officials during the pandemic.
“With the imminence of global security threats from China, Putin and elsewhere, the revelations from the UK Covid Inquiry, which barely scratched the surface, that Labour Government officials used WhatsApp to discuss policy are worrying.
“It is integral that we get our communications right and end the use of informal messaging services to discuss government business to protect our national security.”
