Commenting on the findings of an evidence review, commissioned by the Labour Welsh Government into the elimination of the private sector from children’s residential and foster care, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Early Years, Gareth Davies MS said
“Labour’s extreme ideological obsession will cripple Wales’ residential and foster care sector.
“This evidence review blows a substantial hole in the argument that the private sector should be eliminated from the children’s care sector. Labour’s plan would reduce capacity and rinse the taxpayer.
“Instead of wasting time pursuing this review into yet another socialist vanity project, we should have had a substantial children’s services review across all local authorities as Labour-run Wales is the only part of the UK to have still not benefitted from one.”
