Responding to Vaughan Gething confirming he sent a message saying he would delete messages to avoid being captured by the FOI Act, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:
“In this murky affair, there are still several questions to answer.
“Gething claims that he was not deliberately deleting messages about Welsh Government business, but as it stands, the people of Wales, and families who lost loved ones during the pandemic, simply have to take his word for it.
“The First Minister must publish these messages and prove that he did not delete vital evidence, because it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to simply take his word for it.”
