Responding to his contribution in the Senedd following the UK Government’s Autumn Budget, Peter Fox MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Finance and Local Government said:
“The Labour Welsh Government must face the reality that their support for the Chancellor’s budget constrains their ability to deliver public services.
“By not opposing the Labour UK Government’s national insurance rise, Labour ministers in Wales have become hostage to it. Many tens of millions will be swallowed up paying for the public sector’s employer contributions.
“The Welsh Conservatives want to see additional funding prioritised for the health service and social care to bear down on excessive waits that have hit record highs for seven consecutive months.”
