Responding to the latest ONS figures on homelessness, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, Shadow Housing Minister, said:
“Labour's record on homelessness in Wales is shocking and unless they make drastic wholesale changes, this problem will only get worse.
“There is a very real human cost within these statistics, people's lives are being made much more difficult by Labour's inability to get a grip on the issue. Their Renting Homes Wales Act has in fact contributed to increasing the numbers of those homeless in Wales and it is now time for a review of this act.
“You only need to look at the atrocious conditions used for emergency housing in the former ‘Toys R Us’ building over Christmas, to understand that Labour's current plans are simply not working.”
