“While we welcome any improvements to the severe disruption passengers have experienced on TfW services on the Core Valley Lines, it has taken far too long to reach this stage.
“The Labour Government promised valley lines passengers that they would have faster trains, more frequent services and more carriages, yet we are still awaiting delivery of all three.
“Once again, Labour is only focussed on South Wales whilst the heart of Wales line will still be running on old diesel trains and previous Conservative plans to electrify the North Wales Main Line have been abandoned.
“I sincerely hope that passengers experience the promised benefits of the Metro, otherwise the Welsh Labour Government have spent more than £1bn on a project that offers very little improvements.”
