The First Minister’s delivery statement is filled with bold claims of progress, but the reality for communities across Wales tells a very different story. Despite 26 years in power, Labour’s promises have failed to materialise, leaving Welsh families, businesses, and communities to bear the brunt of poor leadership and misplaced priorities.
From rising waiting lists in our NHS to missed targets on housing and education, the Welsh Government’s record is one of missed opportunities and underperformance. While the First Minister touts increased spending, there’s little evidence to show these funds are translating into real improvements in people’s lives. For too long, Labour has relied on rhetoric instead of results. It’s time for meaningful action and real change—Wales deserves better.
Commenting, Darren Millar MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:
"Under 26 years of Labour Governments, propped up by Plaid Cymru, Wales has the highest NHS waiting lists, worst educational performance, and the highest unemployment rate in the United Kingdom.
"It's clear that under Labour, Wales is broken. Only the Welsh Conservatives have a positive vision to fix Wales and deliver for the people of Wales."
