Responding to the update on the South Wales Metro from Labour’s Transport Secretary, Natasha Asghar MS, Shadow Transport Minister, said:
“Whilst I welcome the long-delayed improvements to the South Wales Metro, Labour should wait until the project is completed before patting themselves on the back.
“After investing more than £1bn into the South Wales Metro, an improved timetable is the least that commuters should be expecting.
“With Labour’s ridiculous decision to freeze all road building and inflicting 20mph speed limits on commuters, they must focus on completing the Metro on time. Alongside ensuring that it is affordable as well as accessible to everyone and offer the choice of a viable alternative to car users.”
