“Culturally significant events, such as the Royal Welsh Show, are incredibly important to Wales’ social fabric, especially for our younger generations.
“The proposals from the Welsh Government direct further uncertainty towards an industry already grappling with huge policy changes and budgetary cuts.
“The Royal Welsh Show is a staple of the Welsh calendar and offers people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to learn more about Wales’ agricultural and rural way of life. Any changes that jeopardise that should be scrapped immediately."
Also Commenting, Laura Anne Jones MS, Shadow Education Minister, said:
“I have said previously that the unpopular and unwanted school holiday reform has not been thought through by the Education Minister and will have far-reaching knock-on effects.
“The Labour Education Minister is ignorant to the deepening education crisis in Wales, he should be getting on with his job and not be distracted by this pet project and his current leadership campaign.”
