Commenting, following his exchange with Labour’s Minister for Social Care in the Senedd today, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Social Care, Dr Altaf Hussain MS said:
“Labour’s stubborn refusal to hold a Wales-specific Covid inquiry is proving difficult for them to justify.
“Module 6 of the UK Inquiry, pertaining to social care, has been delayed and as a result we may never actually know how many people died needlessly in our care homes during the pandemic and certainly not during this Senedd term.
“The Labour Government must work with the sector, Public Health Wales and others to improve the robustness of our infection protection and control measures and hold that much-needed Wales-specific Covid Inquiry to give bereaved families the answers they deserve.”
