Ombudsman Senior Investigator resigns

Responding to the news that the senior investigator at the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales, who has been criticised for their comments on social media, has stepped down, Welsh Conservatives Shadow Minister for Local Government, Sam Rowlands MS, said:

"Whilst Ms Cook has stepped down from her role, this does not give the Ombudsman a free pass to ignore the concerns that have raised regarding historic investigations.

"The Ombudsman must trawl through previous cases to ensure that investigations have been carried out fairly, otherwise people will continue to lose faith and trust in a system which is meant to uphold standards."
