Commenting following his contribution in the Senedd on an FOI response revealing a shocking lack of small GP surgery openings in Wales, Sam Rowlands MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister said:
“Labour’s record running the health service in Wales over the last 25 years is abysmal and stands as a stark warning to the whole UK.
“Over the last decade, not only have we lost close to one hundred GP surgeries, it turns out that only one ‘small’ surgery has actually been built – showing a shocking disregard to rural communities in particular.
“The Welsh Conservatives would focus more resources toward primary care by ending the scandal of Labour’s failure to pass on, to the NHS, every penny received from the UK Government as a result of health spending in England.”
