Commenting on the Auditor General for Wales’ audit of NHS bodies (2023-24) accounts revealing that Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board incurred another irregular expenditure without permission for the second consecutive year, in making payments to a former interim executive member of the Board.
Commenting, Darren Millar MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for North Wales said:
“The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board must get its house in order.
“People in North Wales are fed up of hearing about missing millions, fraud investigations and overpaid NHS directors, we want to see a health board that delivers high quality, timely healthcare, without squandering taxpayers' money.
“Given that the Welsh Government seems incapable of delivering this, we now need an independent inquiry to get to the bottom of these issues once and for all.”
