Commenting on the news that the Labour Government have published a paper looking into ‘resident sentiment in relation to tourism’, Welsh Conservative Shadow Tourism Minister, Tom Giffard MS said:
“I naturally welcome Labour actually looking into what the people of Wales think regarding tourism, but I have little faith that they will actually listen given their atrocious track record.
“The same Labour Ministers who are pushing ahead with a toxic tourism tax that the industry haven’t asked for, clearly don’t have a coherent tourism strategy in mind.
“What the people of Wales want to see is an end to Labour’s relentless attacks on the tourism sector that supports 1-in-7 jobs and a Visit Wales organisation that is independent of government to enhance our offer. That’s why the Welsh Conservatives have launched our ambitious tourism strategy to that end.”
