Responding to Plaid Cymru’s call to boycott Israel, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:
“While many people are deeply distressed about what we have seen in the Middle East, we must be careful in our response to it.
“To boycott Israel would be to sever ties with the only Jewish state in the world and, quite frankly, doing this would only alienate and marginalise the Jewish community.
“Indeed, using language like ‘genocide’ when referring to Israel often seems designed to cause historical pain to Jewish people.”
