Responding to teaching union official Neil Butler saying that school year reform is ‘moving the deckchairs on the Titanic’, Laura Anne Jones MS, Shadow Minister for Education, said:
“School year reform is a red herring that fails to address the real issues in our Welsh schools.
“With all education unions in Wales opposing these plans, pushing blindly ahead would be an act of bad faith from the Labour Welsh Government.
It’s time for Labour to listen to the unions and to the Welsh Conservatives, scrap these plans and focus on getting the basics right.”
