Responding to Keir Starmer’s speech, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives said:
“Keir Starmer’s speech today was nothing but an exercise to excuse his plans for higher taxes and more economic unfairness.
“While there are lingering global challenges which involve tough decisions for politicians, the most pressing challenge coming down the track is one of Starmer and Labour’s own making: a pensioner fuel poverty crisis
“Labour’s shameful decision to cut the winter fuel payment for pensioners will worsen economic unfairness and will hit Wales the hardest, given our older population.”
