Commenting following his spokesperson’s questions to the Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for North Wales, Darren Millar MS said:
“As council taxes rise by double digits, ratepayers in North Wales have seen bin services cut and rubbish piling up like the 1970s Winter of Discontent.
“Labour’s unfair funding formula gives North Wales councils a raw deal and Rachel Reeves’ National Insurance hike will hit council budgets directly, but ministers haven’t bothered to calculate it.
“The Welsh Conservatives will stand up for North Wales, against Labour’s punitive tax rises and in favour of reforming the outdated funding formula, with local referenda for residents to oppose excessive council tax rises.”
