Former Leader of Plaid Cymru, Meirionydd MP, MS and Senedd Presiding Officer, Lord Elis-Thomas has passed away, his family has announced.
Commenting, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Darren Millar MS said:
“This is very sad news indeed and my thoughts and prayers are with Maya and the rest of the family at this very difficult time."
"Dafydd Elis -Thomas was a titan of Welsh politics. You can't put it any other way. He made a huge impact on Wales in our early years of devolution as the Presiding officer of the Senedd and he served Wales and his people with distinction. Both in the Senedd as a Member and also of course, in the UK Parliament as both an MP and a member of the House of Lords."
"My thoughts are with his whole family at this difficult time.”
