Commenting on the latest labour market statistics for Wales, which reveal another rise in unemployment to 5.3%, Welsh Conservative Shadow Economy Minister Samuel Kurtz MS stated:
“These aren’t just numbers moving in the wrong direction—they represent real people across Wales losing their livelihoods.
“It’s clear that under Labour’s control at the other end of the M4, unemployment has climbed steadily, and this is even before Keir Starmer’s damaging jobs tax begins to impact businesses.
"With the Welsh Conservatives, Wales would be open for business—backing small businesses with bold measures like business rate cuts and essential kick-starter programs to drive growth and create the jobs Wales urgently needs. Labour, sadly, stands in the way."
