“In light of these deeply troubling allegations of a hostile and toxic workplace environment at HCC, as reported in Farmers Weekly, a damning picture has emerged of mismanagement at the heart of a public body tasked with supporting a £1bn industry.
“The Minister and the Labour Government cannot remain silent on this. They must launch an urgent, independent investigation into the claims and ensure that leadership at HCC is held accountable and employees can feel safe in their workplace.
“Farmers and processors need confidence that the body representing them is fit for purpose. It’s time for Labour to give this organisation back to the industry and ensure it operates transparently, efficiently and with integrity.”
