The latest labour market statistics for Wales indicates that unemployment remains the highest in the UK at 5.4% and has been for five consecutive months, with Wales’ employment rate remaining the lowest in the UK.
Commenting, Welsh Conservative Shadow Economy Minister, Samuel Kurtz MS said:
“Labour governments at either end of the M4 continue to damage the Welsh economy, taking money out of people’s pockets and making it harder to do businesses. These statistics lay bare the seriousness of Labour’s economic mismanagement.
“We must remember that behind every statistic is an individual, struggling with increased bills and smaller pay-packets.
“The Welsh Labour Government, having broken Wales’ economy, must be turfed out of office. The Welsh Conservatives will fix Wales by incentivising growth in the Welsh economy, cutting taxes and focussing on skills for the jobs of the future.”
