Commenting on Mark Drakeford’s resignation as First Minister of Wales, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, said:
“I wish Mark Drakeford all the best as he stands down from the role of First Minister.
“We’ve shared fiery exchanges across the Senedd chamber, driven by our shared passion for Wales. While we may have very different views on how Wales should be governed, I have never doubted Mark’s commitment to public service and to Wales.
“Politics and public service can take their toll. We give up precious time with our loved ones and with our friends because we all believe in building a better future, even if we have different views on how to achieve that future.
“Mark has made huge sacrifices in order to serve Wales, not only as First Minister, but in many other roles before that as well.
“I hope that Mark will continue to contribute to Welsh public life, where he still has so much to offer.”
