Labour must intervene on Ffos-Y-Fran

Responding to reports that residents who live near the UK's largest opencast mine have "grave concerns" over rising water levels at the site, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, Shadow Climate Change Minister, said:

“The Welsh Government need to get a grip on this situation before the site becomes even more dangerous.

“It is not good enough for Labour to lay responsibility solely at the feet of the operator, when there is a serious issue unfolding in front of them.

“Labour must intervene and take a hands-on approach to ensure the restoration of the site, so nearby residents can feel safe.”
