Following a debate calling for a review into the operations, processes and investigations carried out by the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales, Sam Rowlands MS, Shadow Minister for Local Government, said:
“I’m pleased that the whole Senedd has spoken with one voice in favour of fairness and impartiality.
“It’s imperative that people investigated by the Ombudsman’s office can have confidence in the process, and today Members from across the Senedd supported us in ensuring that impartiality is guaranteed within that process, albeit only because Labour forgot to object to our motion.
“The Welsh Conservatives believe that people are entitled to fairness when they are facing an investigation, no matter their political persuasion.”
