Commenting on the news that six A&E departments across Wales have been declared as under “extreme pressure” or ‘red alert’, Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister, Sam Rowlands MS said:
“Our A&E services are in crisis; we need action from the Labour Welsh Government now to alleviate those pressures.
“Long A&E waits in Labour-run Wales, having worsened again against the twelve and four-hour targets, are having a severe knock-on effect with red alerts being declared outside of the winter months.
“The Welsh Conservatives want to see an end to the A&E crisis. Every penny received from the UK Government for health should be spent on our Welsh NHS – not on creating more politicians as Labour is keen to push ahead with.”
