Commenting following his contribution to the debate in the Senedd today on the steel industry in Wales, Welsh Conservative Shadow Economy and Energy Minister, Samuel Kurtz MS said:
“Labour’s credibility on Welsh steel should be measured by their lack of action, not their empty rhetoric.
“The fact of the matter is that Labour hasn’t put a penny on the table to support Tata Steel since 2019.
“The UK Conservative Government has provided £500 million to Tata and has supported a £100 million transition fund for retraining and skills. The focus should be doing all we can to save jobs and livelihoods with hard cash, not trying to score political points as Labour have been.”
