Commenting following his questions to Labour’s Minister for Local Government in the Senedd today, Peter Fox MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Finance and Local Government said:
“The Labour Welsh Government’s real terms cuts to local authorities are having a damaging effect on frontline services.
“Wales has received the largest ever funding settlement from the UK Government, but much of it fails to reach the frontline because Labour ministers spend millions of pounds on their vanity projects like their proposal to create 36 more politicians.
“The Welsh Conservatives want to see an end to the underfunding of councils and a recognition that properly supported local governments drive improved outcomes in areas like health and education which have suffered under Labour.”
