Responding to the passage at Stage 3 of the Elections and Elected Bodies (Wales) Bill, Peter Fox MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Finance said:
“Constitutional and electoral change may be Labour’s priority, but it’s not the priority of the Welsh Conservatives.
“While we have engaged constructively with this Bill, we would much rather spend the time debating improvements to our Welsh NHS, which suffers from the longest waiting lists in the whole UK.
“We managed to pass important amendments such as one to bar council clerks from becoming councillors, but are disappointed that Labour blocked our attempts to make voting more accessible for disabled people.”
