Responding to the passage at Stage 3 of the Local Government Finance (Wales) Bill, Peter Fox MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Finance and Local Government said
“Be in no doubt, Labour has today passed a bill that will result in continued excessive council tax rises for the people of Wales.
“Labour has rejected common sense calls from the Welsh Conservatives, including key amendments to block substantial council tax rises without the consent of the public and to enshrine the single person discount in law, which remains at risk.
“The Welsh Conservatives will continue to fight for lower taxes and against Labour’s costly pet projects.”
