Commenting on the news that all Welsh Health Boards remain in escalated status, Sam Rowlands MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister said:
“This decision is indicative of a Labour Welsh Government that has made zero progress to improve the situation in hospitals the length and breadth of Wales.
“All Health Boards remain escalated to at least ‘Level 3: Enhanced Monitoring’ status. I would also question, given that less than half of the most serious red ambulance calls are being reached within the target time, whether ‘Level 1’ is the correct status for the ambulance service.
“The Welsh Conservatives have been clear about the root causes of this mismanagement of the Welsh NHS; whether that be the need for a substantial workforce plan to boost staffing numbers or the need to pass on of the full health spending allocation to increase funding.”
