“The inaction of NRW and the Labour Welsh Government is compromising our waterways in Wales.
“When Wales has four times as many sewage discharges proportionately than England it is unacceptable for NRW to be described as ‘missing in action’.
“The Welsh Conservatives have long called for Labour and NRW to hold water firms to account with more effective enforcement. By allowing water companies to continue dumping unchecked, they are enabling the polluting of our waterways.
“The allegation that NRW have been allowing 80% of permitted discharge permits to go ahead without being monitored, is yet another serious example as to why the organisation should be broken up”.
