Responding to a statement by the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care on the Welsh Language and Education (Wales) Bill, Tom Giffard MS, Shadow Welsh Language Minister, said:
“With the chaos at the heart of the Welsh Government, it begs the question how they can deliver any of their targets?
“The current number of Welsh speakers has been declining in Wales, there should be more flexibility on this target to ease the pressure on local authorities who are already underfunded due to Labour’s budget cuts.
“The Labour Welsh Government have a track record of missing targets, if you look at the PISA results in Wales, it is clear that as it stands Labour are on track to miss yet another target.”
