Renewing Welsh Conservative calls for the Labour Welsh Government to divert the new funding announced for Cardiff Airport to Welsh steelmaking, Andrew RT Davies MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives said:
“Labour’s insistence on ploughing funds into Cardiff Airport is a prime example of the economic unfairness that they have perpetuated for 25 years.
“While Port Talbot steelmaking teeters on the brink, with zero support from the Labour Welsh Government since 2019, this vanity project gets a £200 million cash injection.
“The Welsh Conservatives would use this cash to support Welsh steelworkers instead.”
