LABOUR COUNCIL’S EISTEDDFOD ADVICE IS COSTING LOCAL BUSINESSES

Responding to the news that thousands are descending on Pontypridd for the Eisteddfod but some local businesses feel people aren't spending money in the town itself, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Education, Culture and Welsh Language, Tom Giffard MS, said:

“This is characteristically poor planning from the Labour run council, who have let local businesses down in Pontypridd.

“With the advice put out by RCT Council for visitors of the Eisteddfod to prioritise public transport and avoid the town’s car parks, local customers have anticipated it being busy and are staying away.

“With only four days left of the Eisteddfod, the Labour Council have a responsibility to promote local businesses to all those visiting Pontypridd and encourage locals to shop and spend as normal.”
