Commenting on Ofgem’s announcement that the energy price cap will rise by 10% on the previous quarter from 1 October to 31 December 2024, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Economy and Energy, Samuel Kurtz MS said:
“Labour’s promise to lower bills have met with reality today.
“As energy prices rise substantially for households, one of Labour’s first acts was to shamefully cut winter fuel support for pensioners, showing they have the wrong priorities.
“The Labour UK Government was wrong to ban new oil and gas licences. To lower prices, you need a plan to increase supply as cheaply as possible which includes an energy mix of both green and transitionary fuel sources.”
