During spokesperson’s questions Labour’s Transport Minister laid out that Labour are open to the “potential for an alternative means of revenue” that pay per mile offers as an alternative to road tax.
“There have been concerning rumours for weeks that the UK Labour Government are about to squeeze the pockets of taxpayers by introducing pay per mile for drivers.
“Labour’s anti-motorist and anti-growth agenda knows no bounds, from their disastrous 20mph policy to their ban on new road building and now hitting car owners with more charges.
“Today I sought clarity on Labour’s plans for pay per mile in the Senedd and worryingly Labour appeared content in opening a pandora’s box with Pay per mile coming into play with little information and insight on its implementation and exemptions. It would appear that Welsh labour will continue to punish motorists further and sadly to no end.”
