“It is clear from the public outcry that scrapping winter fuel payments for so many vulnerable people is not only exceptionally short sighted but utterly callous.
“With fuel prices increasing and many pensioners living just above the threshold to qualify for pension credit, this policy will undoubtedly cause a large number of pensioners to switch off their heating this winter.
“Labour should do the right thing and vote with our motion this afternoon. However, the fact that no Welsh Labour MP’s voted to scrap this policy shows that the Labour party is not interested in Wales.”
