Commenting on the latest Welsh NHS eye care statistics and ahead of a Welsh Conservative Senedd debate on the subject, Sam Rowlands MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Health Minister said:
“Our sight is precious and so ending preventative sight loss should be a national mission.
“Over half of eye care patients are still at risk of irreversible harm due to excessive waits for treatment here in Labour-run Wales.
“That’s why the Welsh Conservatives have brought forward a debate to encourage the Labour Government to invest the necessary funds, adopt the recommendations of the National Clinical Strategy for Ophthalmology and prioritise cutting the eye health backlog.”
