Responding to comments made by the Older People's Commissioner for Wales, Welsh Conservative Shadow Social Justice Minister, Joel James MS, said:
"Labour must listen to the stark warning by the Older People's Commissioner. Pensioners will die because of what they're doing.
"Tens of thousands of people from Wales alone have signed petitions calling on Labour to reverse this nonsensical decision.
"There is still time to change course before the winter and give pensioners the reprieve they deserve, before it's too late."
