Improving transport links must be a priority in the diversification of Cardiff Airport

Responding to the news that Cardiff Airport has launched its first cargo service since 2010, carrying freight between South Wales and China, Natasha Asghar MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Transport Minister, said: 

“I have long campaigned for Cardiff Airport to diversify its revenue streams, so this project is a promising prospect.

“If the transport links to Cardiff Airport were improved, not only would it make the cargo service more viable, but it would also grow passenger numbers.

“Whilst any innovation to protect jobs and improve the airport’s fortunes are welcome, it remains my belief that the private sector is the best environment for Wales’ only international airport to thrive.”
