The Shadow Minister for Health has welcomed the news that the British Army is on standby to deliver essential medical kit – such as masks, protective glasses, gloves, and other PPE – during the outbreak of Covid-19 (Coronavirus).
Angela Burns AM said:
“The British Army, in fact, all services of HM Armed Forces and from Regulars to Reservists, have the personnel, the training, the adaptability, and the vehicles to be able to deliver what is needed to where it is needed and when it is needed.
“In peacetime around the world, during times of crisis and natural disaster, our serving men and women demonstrate the unique position they are in, and their abilities.
“We have seen them in action closer to home, too, and now – during this crisis – we’ll see again just how valuable they are.”
