The Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs – Andrew RT Davies AM – has called for action to combat fly-tippers in Wales.
He said: “The Government’s social distancing measures have seen many businesses and serve providers close, including waste facilities.
The measures are needed to prevent the spread and finally defeat Covid-19.
But I’ve been left astounded by reports of utterly selfish individuals who’re blighting our countryside with fly-tipped items.
There can be no excuse for it.
Therefore the time is right to curb fly-tipping incidents by reopening waste facilities on a limited basis with the strict social distancing measures still being in place.
I believe this will counter an increase in fly-tipping incidents.”
