News reports have emerged that TNT Sports are in line to broadcast the Six Nations from next year, with some matches going behind a pay wall for the first time.
Commenting, Gareth Davies MS, Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Sport, said:
“Rugby is part of who we are as a Welsh nation, it’s entrenched in our culture and is part of our DNA.
“The Welsh Conservatives have previously led the way in calling for the Six Nations to remain free-to-air, we tabled a motion and won support across the Senedd.
“Everyone in Wales should be part of the Six Nations, putting matches behind a pay wall will damage the sport and impact our culture.”
