The Welsh Conservatives have expressed frustration as traffic jams and rail delays caused chaos in South Wales over the weekend.
South Wales’ creaking infrastructure was no match for Ed Sheeran’s three sell-out concerts at the Principality Stadium as thousands of fans flocked to Cardiff.
There have been reports of families missing the concert following traffic jams lasting over three hours and fans struggling to get to and from the venue as a result of a lack of trains.
Commenting on the news, the Welsh Conservatives Shadow Transport Minister, Natasha Asghar MS said:
“This is the legacy of Labour’s dogmatic approach to infrastructure in Wales. Chaos and delay.
“These concerts had been in the calendar for months, but still Labour ministers and Transport for Wales failed to act in time to make sure enough trains were running and our transport network was up to scratch.
“Events such as these have the opportunity to allow Wales to grow and attract more business, but these delays just show how Labour is stifling Wales.
“Labour Ministers and Cardiff Council need to conduct an urgent review into the events of this weekend so lessons can be learnt and built upon.”
